Tones

Badges often need to carry a category or a state beyond the four kit variants. Those are not extra variants — they are the existing color-token pairs applied through className, so nothing new enters the system:

  • Filled tones use a solid pair: bg-descriptive-orange-brand with text-descriptive-orange-brand-foreground, bg-success with text-success-foreground, and so on.
  • Muted tones use the quieter pair: bg-descriptive-lime, bg-success-muted, bg-warning-muted, bg-destructive-muted, each with its matching foreground. Orange's muted pair is bg-accent / text-accent-foreground.

Both modes are covered, because every one of those tokens has a dark value.

If a tone becomes common enough to repeat across a product, add it to the Badge component in the Figma kit first, then promote it to a tone prop here. The kit stays the source of truth; className is the escape hatch, not the pattern.

Installation

import { ... } from 'nooxit-design-system/components/badge';

Notes

Badges are 20px tall with text-xs medium labels. rounded defaults to true (a pill); pass rounded={false} for the 6px square badge.
